Retail Profitability Audit
A combined financial audit application and app analytics review that traces how sales, discounts, and cost of goods shape net margin across your outlets.
Who this is for
Retail operators with one to roughly twenty outlets who already use POS or commerce apps but still struggle to answer ownership questions about true profitability. Typical clients include specialty apparel, electronics, pharmacy-adjacent retail, and multi-brand concept stores in Penang, Kedah, and the Klang Valley.
What you receive
- A reconciled view of sales figures drawn from your retail apps against bank deposits and ledger postings
- Margin analysis by SKU family, outlet, and promotion window
- A written findings pack suitable for owners or directors
- A live walkthrough with your finance lead and store managers
- A short priority list of corrections you can action without buying new software
What is included
Document requests, two discovery sessions, app export review, ledger sampling, draft findings, revision after your comments, and a final presentation. We work with the systems you already run.
What is excluded
We do not sell or install retail software, rewrite your chart of accounts as a bookkeeping retainer, or provide statutory audit opinions for filing with regulators. If you need a licensed statutory audit, we can introduce an appropriate firm.
How the engagement runs
- Scope call — outlets, apps, reporting calendar, and the questions ownership needs answered.
- Access & exports — you provide read-only exports and sample invoices under a confidentiality understanding.
- Field & desk work — we compare app analytics with financial records and visit at least one outlet when geography allows.
- Findings — draft pack, your comments, then a final session to agree priorities.
Preparation
Nominate a finance contact, list the apps that produce daily sales, and gather three months of exports plus the latest stock valuation method you use. Franchisees should confirm whether head-office reports can be shared.
Constraints
Work depends on timely access to exports. Incomplete POS histories lengthen the timeline. Multi-brand groups with separate ledgers per brand are scoped as parallel workstreams.
Fee basis
Quoted as a fixed project fee based on outlet count, number of apps, and whether travel outside Penang is required. See the fees page for starting ranges, then request a scoped quote.
Next step
Request a scoping call and tell us how many outlets you run and which apps you export from.
